Leica has announced that the 35mm Summicron F2.0 ASPH and the 50mm F1.4 Summilux ASPH are now available in a black chrome finish. The focusing scale will be red.  The 50mm Summilux is very similar to the distressed black paint model offered with the recent released Lenny Kravitz M-P Camera. The design, is suppose to look like a first version 50mm f/1.4 produced from 1959-1961. But with the more modern ASPH design.  The 35mm Summicron with the red focusing scale also looks identical  to the one in the Correspondent Set. Instead of the black lacquer finish produced for the Kravitz set, the new lenses will have a new black chrome finish. The lenses also include round metal lens shades usually only found with special edition kits. It also has metal lens caps.

The lenses are expected to start shipping at the end of April.

You can pre-order from Leica Boutique at Bergen County Camera  by stopping by the store, or by calling 201-664-4113.

Leica Announces the Leica C

image002Leica strives to create cameras as brilliant technologically as they are visually . With the introduction of the Leica C, they raise the bar once again. Packed with a 12 megapixel 1.7″ MOS sensor and a 28-200mm equivalent zoom, image quality is exceptional. Video is equally fantastic, recording Full 1080p HD Video. An exceptional camera deserves exceptional software, so Leica pairs each Leica C with a copy of Adobe Lightroom 5. The camera features both a 3″ LCD screen and a 200,000 dot LCD viewfinder on the back of the camera.  Built in Wifi has become a standard with current compact system cameras, but Leica has upgraded that feature with Near Field Communication (NFC). The Leica C not only communicates and transfers images between the camera and a smartphone or tablet, it allows the user to view video or photos being captured from the Leica C in real time. In terms of technology, the Leica C is at the front of the pack with the latest features in compact cameras.

As for how the camera looks, Leica takes another step ahead with a camera body and accessories created by Audi Design. The camera is slim, sophisticated, and stunning. The accessories for the Leica C also focus  on style. There are five different types of cases available: a clutch, a leather case, a twist case, a snap case, and a leather pouch. The clutch, twist case, and snap case are all available in both champagne and bordeaux to match the camera.

We’re expecting to be receiving these cameras soon. Please stop by the Leica Boutique in Westwood to ask any questions and reserve your Leica C.
